It’s that time of year again. Professors get frustrated because they think people are slacking (and maybe they are), events start happening every weekend and every other weekday, sleep becomes a myth, and then… the plague happens.
You know what I’m talking about. Everyone gets sick. Raspy voices, dry coughs, phlegmy grossness, runny noses… and cold medicine hardly helps.
It happens every single year. Right before (though if you’re lucky like I was in previous years, right after) Halloween. The sick. The stress hits everyone hard and immune systems take cover leaving our exposed, tired, and overworked selves defenseless against that single sneeze.
Sure it sounds dramatic but it’s fucking real. I know because I’m experiencing it right now. I went a week insisting that my body was fighting off a cold and them BOOM. I pass out for two hours on a Monday when I should’ve been in class or building a set and when I wake up I have no idea what day it is. All i know is that I need to put that neti pot to use and stat.
For those suffering with me… good luck. “May the odds be ever in your favor.” And Happy Cold Season.
